Welcome to my journey! My husband and I, will be trekking to Mt. Everest Base Camp. I decided to dedicate this trek to support the Royal Children's Hospital and their world class research to find an end to childhood diabetes. You can follow my once in a lifetime journey via my bog: http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog/paulastravels/1/tpod.html
I will be both participant and observer on this trek while you get to see the challenges and celebrate successes as each day goes by!
I have been a member of the American Women's Association, an Auxiliary of the RCH since moving to Melbourne. All of the RCH Auxiliaries and the RCH Foundation have been such a powerful group of people and I thank them all for their continued support. Managing diabetes is a daily trek with challenges and successes that can arise out of nowhere. It is a long haul over a lifetime and the physical struggle is only one aspect. Staying mentally on top of it becomes an endurance race. My interest is both personal and professional. This trek will document the challenges I face to manage my own type 2 diabetes during the trek. Professionally, I have researched disability rights in South East Asia.
Thanks for visiting my page - dont forget to follow my blog! I can hear my friend's best Desi Arnez voice now calling out to me, "Lucy, what did you do this time?" Thank you to all! Nameste :)
